Bundling for the Sewing Contractors

While the varying sizes and styles of fatigues mean our products must be cut one at a time, the most efficient sewing methods utilize mass production sewing.  As Designer and Patternmaker, I not only designed the initial prototypes and subsequent variations, but also created patterns, specification sheets, and instructions for each style. For a few styles, we even had acrylic plastic cutting templates made. Preparation for production required gathering patterns and templates, specification sheets, directions, and all materials for each style. We sorted and counted the garment parts needed for each item, trying to incorporate a variety of military branches. Finally, we added in the additional materials such as lining fabrics, interfacing, elastic, and hardware and bagged and tied all parts together by style to deliver to the sewing contractor.
